VIP Dance Competition 2012 Results

Dayton Dance Conservatory Ensemble (DDCE) and Pre-Ensemble members did fabulous at VIP Dance Competition this past weekend! The judges were WOWED by DDCE’s amazing talent as they showcased entertaining and innovative choreography in many different styles of dance. Not only did all of DDCE’s dances accomplish high rankings of platinum and high gold and gold in the Broadway (Pre-Ensemble) and Hollywood (DDCE) Divisions throughout the competition; but the dancers finished the weekend on top receiving multiple special awards, scholarships and overall placements! DDC even received a VIP Studio Swag Award for outstanding technique! Awesome job ensemble dancers!
A special congratulations goes out to our Teen Contemporary dancers for receiving 9th place overall and Gabrielle DiNizo for receiving 6th place overall out of the entire competition (278 entries)! Way to go ladies!

JUMP Workshop & Competition

March 16th – 18th DDC Ensemble members and Ms. Audra traveled to Dearborn to take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop from JUMP’s AMAZING Faculty - Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Doug Caldwell, Benoit Swan-Pouffer, Mike Minery, Bobby Newberry, Katy Spreadbury, Nick Lazzarini, Kenny Wormald & Melanie Moore – last season SYTYCD Winner! They danced their hearts out all weekend… and it did NOT go unnoticed!
Special congratulations go out to Gabrielle DiNizo for receiving a JUMP VIP Runner-up Scholarship, Kiara Drew and Madison Miller for receiving a Ballet Class Scholarship, Savannah Ford and Courtney Schaefer for receiving a Lyrical/Jazz/Contemporary Class Scholarship. They all received $250 to attend a Break the Floor Productions intensive and Gabrielle also received a scholarship to The 2012 Dance Awards in New York City this summer. Great work ladies!
In addition to their workshop classes, DDC Ensemble members also competed against 30 other dance schools from all over Ohio & Michigan on Friday and Saturday! Coming face-to-face with some AMAZING talent, they brought home gold and high gold awards from solos to small groups to everything in-between. Congratulations ensemble members! DDC is very proud you!

American Dance Awards 2012

The judges were WOWED by DDC’s amazing talent as they showcased entertaining and innovative choreography in many different styles of dance. Not only did all of DDC’s dances accomplish high rankings of ultimate golds and golds throughout the competition; but the dancers finished the weekend on top receiving multiple special awards and high score placements! Awesome job ensemble dancers!
A special congratulations goes out to Ms. Audra for receiving 2 High Score Solo Choreography Awards and 2 Diamond Choreography Awards for her Junior Lyrical piece “My Father Was Not There” and Junior Trio piece “Will You Be There”! Also to senior advanced DDC student Scotti Stoneburner for receiving a Young Choreographer Award for her Junior Duet “Apple Honey”!

Starpower Dance Competition 2011 Results

May 13th – 15th DDC Ensemble members traveled to Columbus, OH to attend Starpower Dance Competition. They danced their hearts out all weekend… and it did not go unnoticed! They brought home many top awards and overall high score placements from solos to small groups to everything in-between. Coming face-to-face with some AMAZING talent, DDC Ensemble Dancers held their own and came home with their heads held high!

International Dance Competition 2011

This past weekend DDC Ensemble soloists, duets and Petite Jazz attended IDC Dance Competition at the Dayton Convention Center. They had a great time performing their pieces… and made a HUGE impression on the judges, audience and fellow competitors! Not only did all of DDCE’s dances accomplish high rankings of platinum, high gold and gold throughout the competition; but the dancers finished the weekend on top receiving multiple special awards, Miss IDC Semi-Finalist Invitations and high score placements! Awesome job ensemble dancers!

Stage One Dance Competition 2011

Dayton Dance Conservatory Ensemble (DDCE) members did fabulous at Stage One Dance Competition in Columbus! The judges were WOWED by DDCE’s amazing talent as they showcased entertaining and innovative choreography in many different styles of dance. Not only did all of DDCE’s dances accomplish high rankings of platinum, high gold and gold in the Elite Star Division throughout the competition; but the dancers finished the weekend on top receiving multiple special awards, scholarships and high score placements! Awesome job ensemble dancers!
A special congratulations goes out to our Junior Jazz Dancers for receiving the Stage One Excellence in Dance Award for the 12 & under age division. Their jazz routine was the highest scoring routine in the 12 & under age division. Also to Gabrielle DiNizo and Courtney Schaefer for being recognized for their Excellence in Dance – professional entertainment skills and technical ability. Gabrielle received the Stage One Star Title for the 12 & under division (and a Stage One Star Title jacket & partial The One Dance Intensive Scholarship) and Courtney Schaefer received a FULL scholarship to attend The One Dance Intensive. Way to go ladies!

NYCDA Workshop & Competition

Dayton Dance Conservatory Ensemble Members return from Pittsburgh with their heads held high!
February 11-13th DDC Ensemble members and DDC faculty members, Ms. Audra and Ms. Beth, traveled to Pittsburgh to take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Hip Hop from NYCDA's AMAZING Faculty! They danced their hearts out all weekend... and it did not go unnoticed!
A special congratulations goes out to Maliya Drew for receiving a ballet scholarship and Gabrielle DiNizo for receiving a tap scholarship! They will be able to attend a free NYCDA workshop next year! Great work ladies!

Coming face-to-face with some AMAZING talent, DDC Ensemble Dancers held their own and came home with their heads held high!
Congratulations to the dancers in Ms. Audra's junior lyrical piece, The Wound Time Could Not Heal; which was nominated for NYCDA's Critics Choice Award (Best of Show).

Tremaine Dance Convention & Competition

The weekend of January 29-30 Dayton Dance Conservatory Ensemble dancers traveled to Indianapolis to take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary from Joe Tremaine and his amazing faculty! They danced their hearts out all weekend… and it did not go unnoticed! DDC dancers received a great deal of positive feedback on their dancing skills from many Tremaine Faculty members. Many of our dancers made it to the final cuts in scholarship auditions and were even pulled up on stage to demonstrate choreography for an entire ballroom full of dancers! Way to go ladies!
DDCE members, Gabrielle, Maliya, Molly and Courtney competed some of their ensemble pieces on Saturday night and did AMAZING! Courtney received 1st place in the Junior Solo Division for her musical theatre solo “I Got Rhythm.” Molly received 1st place in the Teen Solo Division for her lyrical solo “When the Rain Comes.” Gabrielle received 1st place in the Teen Solo Division for her jazz solo “Le Jazz Hot” and was also named the Highest Scoring Soloist out of the entire competition (junior, teen and senior). Maliya and Molly’s contemporary duet “Journey in Another’s Shoes” received 1st place in the junior division and was also named the Highest Scoring Group of the entire junior and teen competition! Wow! Way to go ladies! What a fabulous way to begin our performing season!
